Avoiding Additional Charges
Be aware that charges in addition to the monthly service charge appear on the monthly statements for each cellular user. These are services that are authorized by the District; thus, associated charges are the responsibility of the user. While some of these services incur a one time charge, others result in a recurring fee that is billed each month on the cellular statement.
These charges include (but are not limited to):
- "Get It Now" downloads for ringtones and other features
- premium download service
- chat rooms, and
- premium text message service such as Joke of the Day.
Note: identification and termination of unauthorized services is the sole responsibility of the location that is funding the cellular phone. Locations are strongly advised to examine their billing statements each month.
