Experiencing housing instability?
We are continuing to find ways to help those without a stable home address to connect to the internet from wherever they are so they can participate in online learning. One way we're doing so is providing mobile 'MiFi hot spot' devices. To inquire about one of these, please provide your household information to your child's school's local district office. If you are not sure which local district you belong to, use the school directory tool to locate your child's school and identify the correct local district.
My student needs a device to learn at home. How do I get one?
Visit device.lausd.net to indicate any unmet device needs for one or more of your students. This will ensure that your child's school is equipped with an adequate number of devices in its inventory to supply any student in need with a computing device.
Also, be sure to inform your child's school of any devices that are lost, damaged, or stolen, so they can update their records and get a viable, working device into the hands of the students as quickly as possible.
How do I get help logging in?
What if a device is lost or stolen?
You should report a lost/stolen device to the issuing school as soon as possible. Things happen, but we do have measures in place to help recover devices that go missing.
- First: our technicians are able to deactivate devices remotely wherever they are; thus, the device will not be usable to anyone who may find or steal the device.
- Second: lost/stolen devices are immediately reported to law enforcement who can use global position system (GPS) technology to track down the location of the device.
May virtual classroom instruction be recorded and re-used?
Can students access Google-owned content (e.g., YouTube, Google Classroom) using their MyMail accounts?
Yes. MyMail accounts are provisioned through Google and enable students to customize access to Google tools, including Google Docs, Classrooms, Forms, Drawing, YouTube and others.
To access, go to Google.com and log in with an LAUSD MyMail account.
If any student or employee has trouble accessing content, please chat with an agent or call 213-443-1300 during normal business hours.
Where can I find educational content for my student?
LAUSD provides a variety of content online to help students continue learning during school facilities closures.
Students can log on to lms.lausd.net to find grade-level appropriate lessons, interactive activities and quizzes.
How do I get a PIN to add my student to the Parent Portal?
How can I get a telephone conference line to stay in touch with my co-workers?
Due to the cost-prohibitive nature of telephone conference bridges, we are recommending employees take advantage of online conferencing tools instead. They provide a great deal more functionality than traditional telephone bridges without the cost.
LAUSD has an agreement with Zoom, enabling employees to use their single sign-on accounts to set up online meetings free of charge.
