App Management/VPP App Store

Volume Purchase Program (VPP) App Store

NOTE:  The VPP App Store has changed.  Here are the new steps:

  •  Apple requires two-factor authentication, open a ticket and include a phone number to be added as the two-factor authorization number, if a number is not available open a ticket for an app request.
  • If you previously had access, you can continue to using the same account, if not, open a ticket to request VPP access.
    • NOTE: Ensure your number has been added as a second factor.  See above.
  • Navigate to school.apple.com
  • After your ticket has been created, contact your area tech.
  • Your area tech will guide you through the new process.

If you are interested in purchasing, downloading or learning about the apps from the Apple Store, you will need to Sign-In first.

  • Choose Apps and Books in the menu on the left side
  • In the search field at the top of the window, enter the name or subject matter of the app you are looking for.
    • The seach feature is intuitive.  Once you find the app you are looking for, click on it
    • If you'd like to see the details of the app, click on "View Details," and scroll down to find the information you are seeking.
    • When finished with the page, you can close the window if you'd like.
  • To purchase the app, under Buy Licenses, click on the "Choose a Location" field and choose your school
    • Enter the quantity you'd like.  We recommend purchasing 10% more than you currently need.
    • When finished, click on the "Get" button

Once you click on the app you are intersted in, be sure to check for the following:

  • Does this app have a cost or is it free?
  • Is the age rating comparable with your school?  Note:  Elementary schools can only access 4+ level apps, MIddle schools can access 9+ and 4+, High schools can access 12+, 9+ and 4+.
    • 4+  is for elementary school
    • 9+  is for middle school
    • 12+ is for high school
  • What is the minimum iOS required for compatibility?
  • How much storage does the app require?
