Accessing the VPN

Guide to Using the Virtual Private Network

 
Use of the District's Virtual Private Network (VPN) requires the use of the Global Protect VPN client or access to Global Protect website to use the Application URL link to navigate to district approved websites. To use this system, please do the following:
 

New GlobalProtect client installation

Step 1:

Browse to https://gp.lausd.net

Step 2:

Login using your SSO account

Step 3:

Click on GlobalProtect Agent to download the client for your system.

Select the corresponding VPN agent for your computer system

List of different client versions corresponding to Apple and Windows operating systems

Once the agent is downloaded on to your computer, click to install it.

Using the Virtual Private Network on Mobile Devices

For Apple iOS devices

  1. Download the GlobalProtect VPN application for your device. Launch the application when ready.
  2. Allow GlobalProtect to send you notifications.
  3. Enter the GlobalProtect portal address.
  4. Allow VPN Configuration.
  5. You will need to enter your phone PIN or touch ID to allow the VPN configuration changes.
  6. After configuration changes, you will need to enter your LAUSD SSO credentials
  7. Approve your MFA authentication or provide your MFA verification code.

Once all the information has been input correctly:

  1. Tap the shield icon to connect.
  2. You may browse to district apps you have access to such as ess.lausd.net
  3. Tap disconnect when you are done browsing.

For Android devices

  1. Download the GlobalProtect VPN application for your device. Launch the application when ready.
  2. Accept the user agreement (on initial launch) by clicking OK.
  3. Enter the GlobalProtect Portal Address.
  4. Press OK.
  5. Enter your LAUSD SSO credentials.
  6. Provide your MFA authentication.
  7. Accept the connection request conditions.
  8. Tap OK.

Once all the information has been input correctly:

  1. Tap the shield icon to connect.
  2. You may browse to district apps you have access to such as ess.lausd.net
  3. Tap disconnect when you are done browsing.
