The District releases an updated version of MiSiS with software fixes and/or enhancements every Tuesday night. Browse the notes below to learn about all updates released since August 2014.

2025
October 2025
The following items have been enhanced/corrected in MiSiS:
Enrollment
- The Parent/Guardian Information History screen has been enhanced to display Street Type and Apartment in the Address Display.
- The Annual Forms Checklist report has been enhanced to display age/grade applicable student PE Exemptions.
- The Home Language Survey has been enhanced to reflect the updated list of languages.
Scheduling
- The Itinerant Course Assignments screen has been enhanced to allow Itinerant Teachers to create their own sections based on their assigned school location(s). The Itinerant Course Assignments for Administrators and Itinerant Course Assignments for Teachers job aids are available on the MiSiS website.
- The Elementary Reorganization report has been enhanced to include the i-Ready ELA assessment for students in grades K-2.
- The Change Student Section screen has been enhanced to process requests for repeatable courses based on the course’s maximum credit value.
Attendance
- All Truancy Notification Letters have been enhanced with updated language to comply with the language required by the California Education Code.
- The Continuation, Independent Study, and Carlson Hospital Teacher Roster screens have been enhanced and modernized to align with the upgraded MiSiS screens. The updated job aids are available on the MiSiS website:
- The Uncleared Absence Letter In-line report has been enhanced so that when users select the “Include Other Students from the Same Household” field, the “Grade Level” field now automatically defaults for the added students.
- The Continuation Teacher Roster screen has been corrected to allow teachers to access the student profile by clicking on the student name link.
Census
- The Homeless Student Roster report has been corrected to accurately display all students with a Homeless record.
- The Household Hub screen has been enhanced to process all active and inactive students from the current school year.
- The Special Education Summary on the Special Education Services screen has been enhanced to reflect the new Eligibility codes.
English Learner
- The English Learner Rosters and the EL Progress Profile reports have been enhanced to consider the i-Ready ELA assessment as a basic skills assessment for students in grades K-2. The updated English Learner Rosters and English Learner Progress Profile Report job aids are available on the MiSiS website.
- The RFEP Monitoring Roster and the RFEP Monitoring Letter reports have been enhanced to include the i-Ready ELA assessment for students in grades K-2.
- The Student Profile screen has been enhanced to no longer display the RK (retained) and 2K (2nd year) alerts for kindergarten students.
- The SSPT Reclassification Recommendation Form report has been corrected to display academic marks.
Extended Learning
- The Extended Programs CoS screens have been enhanced to support Attendance Recovery programs.
Grades
- The Grades screen has been corrected to remove grades for the 2024-2025 school year for grading terms after a student’s withdrawal date.
Graduation Standards
- The Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) report has been corrected to allow the report to generate without displaying an execution error message.
- The Graduation Standards screen LAUSD Requirements Course Details has been corrected to count the HEALTH SH course only once.
Linked Learning
- The Linked Learning / CTE screen, Section A – Industry Sector and Pathway has been enhanced to automatically display the updated End Date for actively enrolled students when a Career Pathway ends at the school.
- The Linked Learning / CTE screen, Section B – Enrolled Career Pathway Course has been enhanced to display all enrolled career pathway courses regardless of the pathway’s end date.
Student Support
- The Opportunity Transfer screen and in-line reports have been enhanced to comply with updated District policy and California Education Code.
- The Support Referral screen, Prior Interventions field, has been corrected to display previously entered Interventions when a Counseling Referral Reason is selected.
Student Testing
- The Test Scores screen has been enhanced to include the new Lectura assessment as well as additional measures for the RDRS: DIBELS 8 assessment.
September 2025
The following items have been enhanced/corrected in MiSiS:
Enrollment
- The Enrollment screen has been corrected to resolve the issue preventing users from Certifying a valid address.
- The Withdrawal History screen has been corrected to resolve the pop-up error when updating L Codes.
- On the Student Profile page, the Primary Language field now displays the correct primary language.
Attendance
- The Student Truancy report student name hyperlink has been corrected to properly link to the student profile.
Academic Intervention
- The Academic Intervention and Manage Academic Intervention screens have been enhanced by removing certain ELOP Programs/Activities.
- The Intervention Service report has been corrected to display the appropriate subject.
English Learner
- The IEP Reclassification Letter report has been enhanced to include updated templates for all students reclassified through the IEP process.
- The Reclassification process and Reclassification Letter report have been enhanced to consider the i-Ready ELA assessment as a basic skills assessment for students in grades K-2.
- The SSPT Reclassification Referral screen and SSPT Reclassification Recommendation Form report have been enhanced to include the i-Ready ELA assessment as a basic skills assessment for students in grades K-2. The updated Creating an SSPT Referral for Reclassification job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
- The Mass Reclassify screen has been enhanced to display all kindergarten students who are eligible for reclassification.
- The Annual English Learner Letter report has been corrected to properly generate for students on the alternate curriculum.
Grades
- The Cumulative Grade Labels – Secondary Schools report has been corrected to resolve the issue preventing users from generating the report for Term Code SM01.
- The MS Culmination screen has been corrected to resolve the issue that displayed certain courses more than once.
Independent Study
- The Elementary Record of Assignment (ROA) Evaluation in-line report has been enhanced to display a maximum of four assignments.
- The Record of Assignment (ROA) screen for Secondary IS Schools has been updated to be optional, requiring at least one assignment entry for one course section. The ROA Evaluation now only requires completion of fields for sections where assignments are issued.
Linked Learning
- The Linked Learning / CTE screen, Section A has been enhanced to display previous Industry Sector and Pathway participation history.
- The Linked Learning / CTE screen, Section A has been enhanced to default the Industry Sector and Pathway End Date to June 30th of the student’s graduation/culmination year from their currently enrolled school when adding a new record for 6th – 8th grade students.
- The Linked Learning / CTE screen, Section F has been enhanced to track completion progress based on course enrollment in Section B.
Student Support
- The Support Referral screen has been corrected to remove duplicate Referral Reasons.
July 2025
The following items have been enhanced/corrected in MiSiS:
Enrollment
- The Enrollment screen has been enhanced as follows:
- to include “Student Housing Questionnaire (SHQ)” as an option in the Address/Residence Verification dropdown
- to accurately reflect the updated Attendance Permit types
- to include the designated schools for the 2025-2026 Open Enrollment
Scheduling
- The Section Attributes sub-report has been corrected to properly generate student details.
Attendance
- The Educator Absence Schedule screen has been corrected to display the correct URL for substitutes to log in and submit attendance.
- The Carlson Home Teacher Roster screen has been modernized.
- The Teacher Roster screen, Action Menu Icon, has been corrected and is fully functional.
- The Student Truancy report screen has been enhanced with the 2025-2026 Truancy Evaluation Dates Central Mailing dates.
- The Uncleared Absences report has been corrected to ensure the address aligns correctly with the envelope window.
Census
- The Dental Screening process has been enhanced to automatically include non-homeless students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (TE). These records can be viewed in the student profile under the Miscellaneous tab on the Health Screenings screen.
- The Exclusions screen has been corrected to remove duplicate records, ensuring that only unique and accurate data is displayed for the 2024-2025 school year.
English Learner
- The Annual English Learner Letter report has been enhanced to include i-Ready ELA assessment results for students in grades K-2. These results will be displayed once data for the 2025-2026 school year becomes available.
GATE
- The GATE Referral screen has been enhanced to capture an end date for Verification records when a student withdraws from school.
Grades
- The Elem Schools Report Card (CA Content Standards) report has been enhanced to add DOX Content Standard Mapping for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (TE) students.
- The Teacher Verification Report (CA Content Standards) report has been enhanced to add DOX Content Standard Mapping for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (TE) students.
- The Grades screen has been enhanced to add DOX Content Standard Mapping for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (TE) students.
Student Testing
- The Test Scores screen has been enhanced to include i-Ready ELA assessment results for students in grades K-2, along with additional measures for the DIBELS 8 assessment. These results will be displayed once data for the 2025-2026 school year becomes available.
June 2025
The following items have been enhanced/corrected in MiSiS:
Enrollment
- A new screen, Annual Forms Checklist, allows schools to digitally track and record annual form submissions as well as displays forms submitted through the upcoming One Enrollment screens for streamlined tracking.
- A new report, Annual Forms Checklist, enables users to generate reports on student annual form submissions. Users can customize the report by applying specific criteria to meet their tracking and reporting needs.
- The Military Family screen has been corrected to properly accept user submissions.
- The Transportation Request screen has been enhanced to display all currently available transportation request types, providing users with clear and up-to-date reference information.
- The Enrollment screen has been corrected to allow enrollment for students who meet the age eligibility criteria for Transitional Kindergarten (TK).
Scheduling
- The Period Seat Tally screen (located under Section Assignments) has been corrected to display periods in the proper order.
Athletic Eligibility
- The Manage Groups and Group Participation screens have been enhanced to include the newly created Official Athletic Team and Auxiliary Groups for the 2025-2026 school year.
English Learner
- The Individual Reclassification Acceleration Plan report has been corrected to print accurately based on the selected school.
- The RFEP Monitoring Letter report has been corrected to ensure that the Spanish version prints on a single page.
- The Master Plan Program screen has been corrected to properly assign services to students based on their specific master plan programs.
- The Observation Protocol for Teachers of English Learners (OPTEL) screen has been corrected to accurately display student information.
Graduation Standards
- The High School Transcripts CSV report has been enhanced to ensure proper footer alignment for improved readability and consistency.
Linked Learning
- The CTE Screen Mass Entry screen has been enhanced to allow backdating of student pathway enrollment records while maintaining accurate data reporting.
Summer School
- The Summer School Application report has been corrected and now functions as intended.
May 2025
MiSiS Updates - May 14, 2025
The following items have been enhanced/corrected in MiSiS:
Enrollment
- The Military Family screen has been enhanced to include the Space Force branch of the military.
- The Student Enrollment screen has been corrected to populate the various Attendance Permit Types.
Scheduling
- The Change Student Section (CSS) screen has been corrected to properly route requests to the appropriate Regional Counseling Coordinator.
- The Scheduling Home screen has been enhanced with a new Announcements section. The updated Master Scheduling Home Page job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
Academic Intervention
- The Academic Intervention Services and Manage Intervention Service screens have been modified for Credit Recovery, Beyond the Bell programs, and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP).
Census
- The Information Release Exclusion screen has been enhanced to allow users to update dental screening records from "Opt Out" to "Opt In" for TE and TK non-homeless students. Manually updated records were not modified.
English Learner
- The Individual Reclassification Acceleration Plan report has been corrected to resolve formatting issues.
- The EL Progress Profile report has been corrected to remove the duplicate ELD Teacher label.
- A new screen, Observation Protocol for Teachers of English Learners (OPTEL), allows specific user roles to enter Receptive and Expressive Skills for English Learners. The OPTEL Screen job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
Grades
- The Manage Grades by Class screen has been corrected to allow teachers to view all eligible students when entering grades, resolving a previous issue where some students were not appearing.
Graduation Standards
- The Graduation Standards and Grade Level Benchmark Graph screens have been enhanced to include Health Education SH (260113) as part of the health graduation requirement, ensuring alignment with current District graduation requirements.
- The Graduation Standards screen has been:
- Enhanced to support Alternative Curriculum Graduation Standards Exemptions, allowing for more accurate display and tracking of exemption statuses for eligible students.
- Enhanced to reflect the revised terminology of Diploma Certification, ensuring clarity for end users and alignment with District guidelines.
- Corrected to address active CTE Pathway records for students that were withdrawn.
Health
- The Student Health Screening screen has been enhanced by renaming “Satisfactory” to “No Obvious Problem Found (Satisfactory)” in the Dental Examination Results field within the Dental Oral Health Assessment section.
Independent Study
- The ROA Evaluation screen has been enhanced for Long-Term/Full-Time records when % Completed is selected as follows:
- If 0% is selected, the Grade Earned field will auto-populate to 1.
- If 10% - 100% is selected, the user must manually enter a Grade Earned value between 1 and 4.
- The Total Earned Days is automatically calculated by the sum of the % Completed for all subjects, divided by the number of subjects on the ROA, and multiplied by the ROA Total Assigned Days, in whole numbers, rounded up for any partial value. This field must match the Total Present Days Submitted.
Student Support
- The SSPT Referral, Follow-up Meeting screen has been corrected and now displays when all required fields have been entered.
April 2025
MiSiS Updates - April 9, 2025
Enrollment
- The Parent/Guardian and Enrollment screens have been enhanced to require a parent email address with the option for schools to mark that they have verified when a Parent/Guardian does not have one.
- The Parent/Guardian screen has been enhanced to display the ‘Mailing Address’ category, aligning it with the Enrollment screen.
- The Enrollment screen has been enhanced to categorize permit types by major domains and allows users to search for specific permit types.
Attendance
- The Carlson Home Teacher Roster screen has been corrected to allow users to access the student profile after attendance is submitted.
- The Attendance Summary Report screen has been enhanced to allow users to generate letters by household.
- The Exclusion screen has been corrected to display the correct school year and prevent the creation of multiple records.
- The Master Absence report has been corrected to display the accurate Total Periods Tardy count.
- The Classroom Attendance by Date Range report has been corrected to display in a single enrollment line for students who had a teacher change.
- The Informational Absence Letter report has been enhanced to allow users to generate letters by household, with the option to create either individual letters for each student or a single letter that includes all students.
English Learner
- The SSPT Reclassification Referral screen has been corrected to display the course name and final mark within the Academic Information section.
- The SSPT Reclassification Recommendation Form report has been corrected to display students’ English and/or Grade Level ELD semester final marks.
Grades
- The Grades by Student screen has been corrected to allow academic grades to be saved even if the Work Habits and Citizenship fields are left blank.
Graduation Standards
- The Graduation Standards screen has been enhanced to reflect Ethnic Studies as a graduation requirement for Grade 9 students in the Class of 2027 and beyond, in alignment with the LAUSD Board policy Ethnic Studies for All Students: Reaffirming Our Commitment to Ethnic Studies in Los Angeles Unified.
Independent Study
- The Master Agreement screen has been corrected to allow users to download the completed and finalized Master Agreement and Record of Assignment.
Linked Learning
- The Linked Learning / CTE Pathway Entry screens (Mass Entry and Individual Entry) have been corrected as follows:
- The Certification Date (Section D) and Activity Date (Section E) fields now display the correct date ranges based on their effective start and end dates.
- When saving an entry for a single student, only the selected student’s data is saved. Previously, multiple students were incorrectly affected.
March 2025
MiSiS Updates - March 12, 2025
The following items have been enhanced/corrected in MiSiS:
Enrollment
- The Enrollment pages have been corrected to address minor spelling errors.
- The Enrollment History screen has been enhanced to mirror the verbiage on the Enrollment screens.
Attendance
- A new screen, Disable Attendance Calls, under the Admin > Configuration > Attendance menu, now allows users with the Principal or Summer School Counselor role to enable or disable daily attendance calls. This functionality can only be used during emergencies or when explicitly authorized by the System Administrator.
- The Attendance Summary and Master Absence reports have been enhanced with a Household ID parameter, a sort option, and a report column.
- The Uncleared Absence Letter and Address Confirmation Letter reports have been enhanced with a Household ID parameter, allowing users to generate letters for students attending the same campus.
- The Carlson Home Teacher Roster screen has been corrected to allow teachers to view the student profile.
English Learner
- The English Learner Rosters, Individual Reclassification Acceleration Plan (IRAP), and the EL Progress Profile reports have been enhanced to include the i-Ready ELA “2 Grade Levels Below” Overall Relative Placement Level for students in grades 8-12. The reports will display “Met Criteria” where applicable. The updated job aids for the Individual Reclassification Acceleration Plan and the EL Progress Profile are available on the MiSiS website.
Grades
- The IGP report has been enhanced to display “Met Criteria” for Students in grades 8-12 who have an i-Ready ELA Overall Performance Level of "Needs Improvement" and the additional Overall Relative Placement Performance Level of "Two Grade Levels Below".
Homeless
- The Homeless screen has been corrected to ensure that users with the Student Support Admin role no longer encounter an error message upon login.

MiSiS Updates - February 12, 2025

Enrollment
- The Advanced Search and Student Profile screens have been enhanced to include a Household ID that links all individuals associated with a student to the student’s address.
- The Advanced Search screen has been enhanced with a new field labeled “Include Early Ed students”, allowing users to view students enrolled in Early Ed schools.
- The Enroll Student screen has been enhanced to allow users to automatically withdraw students if the Exit Date is today or falls before the start of the school year.
- The Student Transfer Form report has been corrected to load quickly on both Firefox and Chrome, eliminating prior delays and display issues experienced by users.
Scheduling
- The Sections Editor and Walk-In screens have been corrected to accurately assign Master Plan Programs to elementary students in Dual Language Programs whose language classification is not LEP.
Attendance
- The Continuation Teacher Roster screen has been enhanced by removing Absence, Tardy, and Left Early Reason Codes 4, 4I, SC, V1, V2, V3, V5. The suspension reason codes are automatically updated when the corresponding suspension is entered on the Suspension screen. The updated Enter Attendance as a Continuation Teacher - Regular Program job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
English Learner
- The American Indian Schools Student Roster report has been enhanced to display “Verification Date” in place of “Certification Date” as the column header.
- The Reclassification Process has been enhanced to include the i-Ready ELA “2 Grade Levels Below” Overall Relative Placement Level for students in grades 8-12. The Reclassification Letter report will display “Met Criteria” in the Basic Grade Level Skills Performance section for qualifying students.
- The SSPT Reclassification Referral screen and the SSPT Reclassification Recommendation Form report have been enhanced to include the i-Ready ELA “2 Grade Levels Below” Overall Relative Placement Level for students in grades 8-12. The Current Academic Information screen and the form will now display “Met Criteria” for eligible students. The updated Creating an SSPT Referral for Reclassification job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
- The Master Plan Program screen (Student Profile > Services > English Learner) has been corrected to show all Master Plan Programs for elementary students in Dual Language Programs whose language classification is not LEP.
- The Mass Notification Date Entry screen has been corrected to accurately return eligible students for Reclassification Consultations.
GATE
- The Student Profile screen has been corrected to ensure that the GATE Alert no longer appears for students eligible for services through the Verified Process.
- The GATE Notification Letter report has been corrected to ensure it prints properly.
Grades
- The Grades screen has been corrected to allow users to edit GP1 grades without encountering an error message.
Graduation Standards
- The Graduation Standards – Individual Graduation Plan report has been corrected to ensure that only failed courses are highlighted in red in the Required Courses column.
- The Graduation Standards Summary screen has been enhanced to calculate the Seal of Biliteracy (SSB) LOTE GPA at the 15-week or 20-week grades. This change ensures that eligible seniors are identified in time for graduation. The update aligns with REF-5306.11 – Guidelines for Issuing the 12th Grade LAUSD and CA Department of Education State Seal of Biliteracy Awards for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond.

MiSiS Updates - January 15, 2025

Enrollment
- The Enrollment Application screen was enhanced to display two new codes, "E5 - Enrolling from Another Country" and "E5 - Enrolling from Another State”. It also includes all Enrollment Codes, along with their descriptors.
- The Parent/Guardian Information screen has been enhanced to capture new Home Correspondence Languages, including American Sign Language (ASL) and Other Sign Languages.
Scheduling
- The Section Attributes screen in Sections Editor has been corrected to display all available Credit Recovery programs in the “Credit Recovery” dropdown.
Attendance
- The Attendance Alert screen, located under the student profile, has been enhanced by updating the End Date field to default one year from the user entered Start Date.
- The Continuation Teacher Roster screen has been enhanced with the addition of the Contact Log Mass Update screen. The updated Enter Attendance as a Continuation Teacher - Regular Program job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
Census
- The following screens have been enhanced to allow users to apply the same record to other students in the household attending the same school:

English Learner
- The Mass Notification Date Entry screen has been corrected to prevent duplicate student records from displaying for students who have had grade level changes.
- The Alternate English Language Proficiency Assessment screen under Student Profile > Services > English Learner has been enhanced to display Alternate ELPAC test data. The updated English Learner Screen job aid is available on the MiSiS website.
GATE
- The Student GATE Search screen has been corrected to return students based on the “Required Paper Documents Submitted” value found in the District Referral Status dropdown.
- The Verified Process screen has been enhanced to identify eligible students based on the following prioritization criteria: Test Scores, Grades, and Thinking Skills. Eligible students are displayed on the Manage GATE Student Verification Screen.
- The Manage GATE Student Verification screen under Admin > Manage GATE has been enhanced to include an Excel spreadsheet displaying the students found eligible by the Verified Process. The updated Manage GATE Student Verificationjob aid is available on the MiSiS website.
- The GATE Notification Letter report templates have been enhanced for both English and Spanish versions.
- The GATE Student Information screen, found under Student Profile > Services > Gifted and Talented, has been enhanced to display “Verification Created in MiSiS” in the SRS column for all students found eligible via the Verified Process.
Grades
- The Middle School Culmination screen has been enhanced to display the most recent 8th-grade grades until final spring grades are available. The eligibility status will update only upon earning 50 credits, assisting counselors in monitoring student progress.
Graduation Standards
- The Graduation Standards screen has been corrected to allow schools to add Career Pathways for students at non-Linked Learning schools using both entry methods—Graduation Standards and Linked Learning.
- The Credit Recovery Intervention screen has been corrected to no longer display an error message when users attempt to enter new Credit Recovery Interventions.
- The CCRG Report screen, under the Admin tab, has been corrected to display only the regions accessible to the user, ensuring proper access restrictions.
- The Linked Learning Records End Date screen has been enhanced to automatically update the end date for Linked Learning records when a student’s graduation year changes via the Change Graduation Requirements Year screen.
Independent Study
- The Independent Study (IS) Teacher Roster screen has been corrected to allow the IS Supervising Designee to access a student profile.
- The IS School Full Time/Long Term Record of Assignment (ROA) screen has been enhanced to allow users to enter ROA records for any dates within the Master Agreement period where there was no valid ROA.
ITI
- The ITI Form Status report has been enhanced to include previous year data between July 1 and July 31 to ensure continuous access for students connected to District AI tools.
Linked Learning
- The Certification List Update screen has been enhanced to align the certification list under Linked Learning screens with industry-recognized certifications, improving grant reporting accuracy.
- The Pathway Completion screen has been enhanced with a new section to track students completing career pathways to align with District Strategic Plan metrics.
- Mass Editing on the Linked Learning screen has been enhanced to support large-scale corrections, allowing users to:
- Automatically close existing records and create new ones.
- Streamline data entry with automated date defaults.
- Integrate additional fields for internships, including "Paid/Unpaid" and "Performance Evaluation Score" options.
- Reflect policy updates and improve functionality by removing unnecessary sections.
Student Search
- The Student Search screen has been enhanced to display all available years of student data when the “Include Students no Longer Enrolled” option is selected in the School Year filter. The filter lists school years in reverse chronological order, defaults to the previous school year, and allows users to select up to three school years for a single search.
