Meet the MiSiS Team

Robert Pelayo is the Senior Director for MiSiS.  Robert manages the Functional and Technical Team Leads, Business Analysts, and Developers, as well as other technical support staff to oversee the development, quality assurance, testing, maintenance, and support of the MiSiS application.  Robert continues to support all schools by participating in various other projects and initiatives related to student information systems and applications.

Armen Balayan is a School Systems Manager and oversees the Special Education Support Systems and Training Teams.

Philip Chang-Chien is a School Systems Manager and oversees the Requirements and Design Teams, which includes the MiSiS and Instructional Applications Requirements, User Acceptance Testing, and Work Stream Coordinators Teams.

Youssef Elias is a School Systems Manager and oversees the Miscellaneous Applications Projects, which include Project Management, DACE-SIS, EESIS, Unified Enrollment, and Parent Portal.

Sandra Castelo is the Functional Lead for English Learner, Gifted/Talented Programs (GATE), Groups, Next Year Enrollment, Scheduling, and Student Testing.  Prior to joining the MiSiS project, she served as a Counseling Coordinator for Local District North and assisted schools with their Master Scheduling needs. She proudly served the LAUSD for the past 20 years as a high school teacher, counselor, and administrator. In her current position, she works closely with the business owners to ensure the system continues to meet the needs of students, school personnel, and parents.

Luz Marquez is the Functional Lead for Athletic Eligibility, Attendance, Enrollment, Health, Household Hub, Independent Studies, Student Services, and Charter API.  Prior to joining the ITS team, she served as a Teacher, Academic Counselor, PSA Counselor, and PSA Coordinator.  She offers extensive experience in District policy, business practices, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and aligning the District’s goals with technology solutions to drive process improvements.

Sofia Hernandez is a Computer Applications Administrator and oversees the Requirements Teams.

Marlon Pinzon is the IT Training Project Manager.  His team provides Training and Support for MiSiS, Welligent Support, and DACESIS, by conducting Instructor-led classes, providing online training materials, and webinars, and oversees the Training Team.

Claire Lubrin is the IT Training Supervisor. She is responsible for a training team that provides training and support for MISIS, Welligent, DACE SIS, Focus, MyData and WholeChild.

Murali is the Technical Lead for the Development team.  He is responsible for the MiSiS architecture improvements and stability, having extensive experience in Project Management, Software Design, and Architecture.

Marissa Tamayo is a Senior Technical Project Manager and oversees the User Acceptance Team.
